Melanie McKinney, LMSW

Therapist | Trauma-Informed Care Specialist

I am Melanie McKinney, a Licensed Master Social Worker with a deep passion for supporting individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges. My journey to social work was shaped by a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where I had the honor of working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. This time in service gave me a unique perspective on resilience, adaptability, and the importance of fostering meaningful connections.

While in the Air Force, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by military personnel, veterans, and their families, from navigating trauma to managing life transitions. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in social work, where I could provide compassionate care and practical support to those in need. Transitioning to social work allowed me to channel my skills into creating safe, empowering spaces for children, families, and individuals facing difficult circumstances.

Today, I specialize in offering tailored support to children, adolescents, adults, and military families, emphasizing clarity, strength, and actionable solutions. My approach is rooted in empathy and a commitment to helping clients achieve meaningful growth and balance in their lives.

This integrative approach ensures that I can adapt to each client’s specific circumstances and provide the tools they need to overcome obstacles and find meaningful solutions.

Above all, I believe healing happens when individuals feel truly seen and supported, both by others and within themselves.
